The results are in and with a great majority, Vanier students have made clear their desire for the implementation of a student insurance plan!
Official Notice for Referendum

"The VCSA is pleased to announce that the time has finally come for ALL members of the Association to vote on the implementation of the VCSA Student Insurance Plan. Starting on October 9th, 2020, students will be able to vote on the question and finally give their opinion on the student insurance plan. With the pandemic affecting everyone in so many different ways, the implementation of an insurance plan is so important for many at Vanier. The full plan would include the following services health care, dental care, vision care, legal aid AND legal representation!"
LEGAL AID & REPRESENTATION
It was incredibly important to the VCSA Student Insurance Board that students receive access to not only legal aid but also legal representation!
If implemented, students will be able to have consultations with certified lawyers and even have them represent them in court.
TELEMEDICINE SERVICE
We are pleased to anounce that the VCSA Student Insurance Board has decided to move forward with our goal of making Vanier College the first ever anglophone CEGEP to offer telemedicine services.
If implemented, students will be able to consult doctors in real time and receive diagnoses. Students will be able to communicate with these certified doctors and renew prescriptions, all from the comfort of their own home!
Mental Health Wellness Support
With the Association's mission and core values always in mind, we strive to find new strategies for dealing with the dificult challenges that arise for many students. Mental health is something that we take very seriously, and our team is working hard to help provide more ressources to students.
If implemented, the plan would include 24/7 access to a mental health ressource hotlines. Students can expect to speak with real and trained people about what's troubling them, regardless of the time. For many, just the comfort of hearing the voice of someone else and being able to express your emotions can make all the diffference. We hope to help many by providing a comforting resource like this.
